An Artist’s Pattern Sensitivity
London-based multi-media sculptor, Rowan Mersh uncovers visually surprising forms while working with ordinary materials. The results are a mixture of art, design and fashion.
In his recent collection, he has created intricately patterned sculptures from repeating seashells. The small shells create rippling wave patterns, but a closer look reveals the details of the forms themselves.
He has the ability to see the inherent mystery of pattern that exists in all things and by incorporating them into his works, has produced an amazing variety of textiles, sculptures and installation. His works have appeared in the Victoria & Albert Museum collection, a video for Veuve’ Clicquot and unique creations for Fendi.
