Scaled Down Architecture
A museum devoted entirely to architectural scale models recently opened in Japan. The Archi Depot Museum in Tokyo showcases hundreds of architectural models stacked within the space. Many of the models are representative of early styles that have influenced some of the city’s main architectural attractions, icons like the Tokyo Skytree and Tokyo International Airport.
Each of the models within the museum are uniquely tagged with a QR code, that when entered on a phone, brings up much more information about each project including photographs, blueprints, future plans from the architect and more. And for fans of the museum who can’t make it in person, the models can be easily viewed through their website or Instagram.
