Behind the Design: A Look at the Making of House
From concept to final creation, the making of each House set takes months to complete. Sourcing ideas and designs for each individual set is often one of the most complex processes. A variety of sources serve as inspiration. We often considers which previous sets were the most popular and versatile to know what will serve our clients’ creative needs best.
The first step involves a few sketches – ideas for scale and overall size of the sets and the details. Our set designers refine the ideas and create a final properly scaled floor plan for our carpenters.
One House set can take up to two weeks to construct. Every effort is made to create a sense of realism. Finishing touches on the walls, floors and details are some of the most time-consuming steps of the entire process. The construction process is made to ensure the sets’ durability as the sets are generally standing for six to eight months at a time.
