Finding Humor in Fine Art

A new book released by comic duo Hank Schmidt in der Beek and Fabian Schubert is poking fun at the tradition of En Plein Air painting. The style made famous by french impressionists allows artists to paint in the outdoors among the natural landscapes of their subjects, as opposed to being confined in a studio setting. Traveling to many locations made famous by Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet and more, the duo are photographed painting their shirt patterns as opposed to the natural landscape.
